Abstract
A chelator-type beta -C-nucleoside having a catechol ligand as the nucleoba se was found to form a stable 2:1 complex with trimethyl berate, which,vas characterized by H-1-NMR and electrospray ionization time-of-flight (ESI-TO F) mass spectroscopies. Both phosphoramidite and phosphotriester derivative s of this nucleoside were also prepared as synthetic precursors for DNA oli gomer syntheses.
