Abstract
Several new 2-(gamma-picolinoyl amino azo)-ethylacetoacetate (1), amma -picolinoylaminoazo)-3-alylidene-propan-2-ones (2a-j), oylaminoazometh yl)-5-aryl-1-H/acetyl-2-pyrazolines (3a-j), (4a-j), -aryl-6-(gamma-pic olinoylaminoazomethyl)-pyridines (5a-j) and 2-(gamma-picolinoylaminoaz omethyl)-benzodiazepines (6a-j) have been synthesised and screened for their antimicrobial activity. The products 2-6 displayed moderate to good activity. The structures of the products have been elucidated by IR, PMR and mass spectral study.
