Six new oxygenated heterocyclic constitutents, named capparisesterpeno
lide and decidua terpenolides A,B,C,D and E have been isolated from th
e alcoholic extract of root-bark of Capparis decidua. The structures o
f these compounds have been established as 11,15,19-tetramethyleicos-1
3-ene-17-ol-6,21-olide, 13-(15,19-19-imethylcyclohex-14, hyl-6-hydroxy
methylenetridec-10-ene-7,8,12-triol-5 (20)-olide, 13-(15,19-trimetyl c
yclohex-14,17-diene-16-one-yl)-10 -16-hydroxymethylene-tridec-6-ene-1,
,8,12-triol-5, (20)-olide, 14-(16,20,20-trimethyl -15,18-diene-17-one-
yl)-tetradec-3-ene-13-ol-1(5), 8(24)-diolide, 14-(16,20, 20-trimethyl
cyclohex-15, 18-diene-17-one-yl)-11-methyl pentadec-1, 22-dihydroxymet
hylene-7-ene-13-one-6, 21-olide and 19-(21,25,25-trimethyl cyclohex-20
) 2-one-yl)-16-methyl-nonadec-8-ene-14-one-8-hydroxy methylene-18-ol-7
,26-olide-28 oic acid, respectively on the basis of chemical reactions
and spectral data.
