The conventional Fourier-based complex exponential carriers of a multicarri
er system are replaced with orthonormal wavelets in order to reduce the int
erference. The wavelets are derived from a multistage tree-structured Haar
and Daubechies orthonormal quadrature mirror filter (QMF) bank. Compared wi
th the conventional OFDM, it is found that these wavelets reduce the power
of ISI and ICI.
