Abstract
The authors have developed a 2x2 digital optical switch (DOS) composed of f our 1x2 DOS elements using silicone resin waveguides. The 2x2 DOS operated with a switching power of 380mW, a very low crosstalk of less than -60dB, a nd a low insertion loss of less than 2.5dB at 1.55 mum.
