Abstract
Within the framework of the study of the aircraft structural material light ning, we present a work concerning the heating of metal sheets under the ac tion of a moving electric are. A 2D and 3D modeling of thermal phenomena oc curring in the heated electrodes are used in order to study the influence o f the are root velocity and of the power and the surface power density brou ght by the are roots on the electrode heating.
