V. Barus et al., AMINO-ACID SPECTRUM OF LIGULA-INTESTINALIS (PSEUDOPHYLLIDEA) PLEROCERCOIDS IN DIFFERENT LIFE PHASES, Helminthologia, 34(2), 1997, pp. 65-69
Ligula intestinalis plerocercoids from the second intermediate host Ab
ramis brama (from the locality Musov Reservoir, Czech Republic), the s
pectrum of 17 amino acids (11 essential and 6 non-essential AAs) was a
nalysed quantitatively. The AA values of plerocercoid specimens were c
ompared in the developmental growth, and degeneration and regression p
hases. The hierarchal quantitative rank of individual AAs was similar
up to very similar in the groups compared. The differences, highly sig
nificant statistically, in the total quantitative values of AA sets fr
om L. intestinalis plerocercoids were found in the growing phase (70.0
6 +/- 0.309) and in the degeneration and regression phases (80.38 +/-
0.072 and 82.76 +/- 0.568, respectively), These differences are also c
lear in the EAA and NEAA sets. The suggestion is presented that, in th
e degeneration process in L. intestinalis plerocercoids, the accumulat
ion and higher quantitative values in the AA spectrum can be typical p
henomena.
