Abstract
A new method of classification of sub-image blocks for digital image compre ssion purposes using neural network is proposed. Two different classificati on algorithms are used to show their greater effectiveness than the convent ional classification techniques. Simulation results are presented which dem onstrate the effectiveness of the new technique.
