Abstract
The phytochemical investigation of aerial parts of Bacopa monniera Wettst. has resulted the isolation of a new sterol 13,-14-seco-stigma 9(11), 14(15) diene- 3 beta -ol designated as Bacosterol 1 and a new triterpene lup 20 ( 29)-ene-3 alpha -ol-27-oic acid named as Bacosine 2. Their structures have been elucidated by spectroscopic and chemical methods.
