Abstract
An equimolar reaction of diphenylketene with benzophenone N-diphenylacyl hy drazones 2a-c affords 5,5-diaryl-4-(diphenylacyl)-2-(diphenylmethyl)-1,3,4- oxadiazol-2-enes 5a-c which have been characterized on the basis of analyti cal and spectroscopic studies (IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR and MS). A plausible me chanism of their formation has been suggested.
