Abstract
An enantiospecific synthesis of (+)-valerane via 3-valeranone, starting fro m (R)-carvone employing a stereo- and regiospecific intramolecular diazo ke tone cyclopropanation as key reaction for the generation of two vicinal ste reogenic quaternary carbons, is described.
