Automatic integration of process and laboratory data into a Management Information System at the Sudzucker factory in Offenau

This article covers the use of an information system adapted specifically t o the technology of sugar production. The information system, NAHMAT MIS ha s been installed in a number of German sugar factories. The information sys tem allows for remote checks on quality control, economic performance, tren d analysis, tracking of product flow and maintenance planning. The main dif ference between this system and the process control level is that process d ata from days, weeks or even the entire campaign can be processed.
