Abstract
Forcing, in a certain fibration tau :E --> B, a terminal object to be also initial, i.e. imposing some coherent splittings on some maps, allows one to recover n-groupoids from n-truncated simplicial objects and to control the machinery of the nerve functor for n-groupoids.
