Abstract
We propose and demonstrate the use of bent long-period fiber gratings to co mpensate for the polarization sensitivity of an EDFA's equalized gain spect rum. An excursion in the spectrum of 4 dB due to polarization fluctuations is reduced to 2 dB by compensation. (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
