The series discusses mod em optimisation techniques applicable to power system problems and, by cons idering relevant examples, will explain some of the concepts, issues and te rminology in this field. This first part gives an introduction to mathemati cal programming based methods. The second part will cover heuristic optimis ation techniques, and the third part will consider full-scale power system applications.
