Abstract
To evaluate compost quality, along with traditional agrochemical parameters it is advisable to apply an all-encompassing analysis of compost activity by many biological parameters. The analysis covers the following indices: e nzymatic activity, ability to inhibit phytopathogenic microflora, and compo sition of the microbial cenosis. An all-encompassing method was applied to a comparative study of composts produced from municipal wastes from Sweden, the Czech Republic and from pig farm wastes of the Netherlands. The recomm ended method will make it possible to expand the spectrum of biocompost app lication and optimize the technology of its application in sustainable agri culture.
