Abstract
The preparation and characterization of 5-fluorouracil/ethylene- vinyl alco hol copolymer (5-Fu/EVAL) matrix coated with various polymeric materials ar e reported. The coating materials studied here include ethylene-vinyl alcoh ol copolymer (EVAL), cellulose acetate (CA), poly-2-hydroxyethyl methacryla te (PHEMA) and poly-methyl methacrylate (PMMA) with different diffusivities and thicknesses. To validate the proposed model equations, these coated sy stems were investigated experimentally and quantitatively. The results show a good correlation between theoretical predictions and experimental data.
