Abstract
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a complex multifactorial disease in which envi ronmental, genetic, gender, and age-related factors are operating. Hormonal and immunological changes during pregnancy and the postpartum period are a ssociated with profound changes in disease severity and incidence. There is evidence that some hormonal therapies can modify disease severity and decr ease disease susceptibility.
