Abstract
Ceramics from Rose Cottage Cave, analysed by SEM and EDX, were not made fro m local clay. Furthermore, the grass-tempered sherds are of a different ori gin from the grit-tempered sherds. The grit-tempered sherds contain ilmenit e, which is most likely to have originated from the KwaZulu-Natal coast.
