S. Narasimhan et R. Balakumar, Zirconium borohydride - A versatile reducing agent for the reduction of electrophilic and nucleophilic substrates, SYN COMMUN, 30(23), 2000, pp. 4387-4395
Zirconium borohydride, a potential reducing agent, reduces acids, esters, i
mines to the corresponding alcohols and secondary amines in good yield at r
oom temperature within two hours. This facile reducing property was taken a
dvantage off in the synthesis of pheromones and some novel chiral precursor
s for asymmetric synthesis.
