Abstract
In the present paper, a modified form of the critical state model is s uggested to describe the anisotropic J(c) effect of high T-C supercond ucting tapes, By this model, the intrinsic stability of a tape conduct or is analyzed, The criterion suggests that the width and the thicknes s of the tape should be limited in combination. For a given tape thick ness, a critical width (corresponding to a given angle) under which th e tape becomes intrinsically stable is proposed. This criterion sugges ts a 2D limitation for high T-c superconducting tape. Additionally, th e model suggests that flux-jump field is a function of the field orien tation.
