Zf. Xi et T. Takahashi, Strategy for selective one - Pot aromatization of three different alkynes by organometallic compounds, ACT CHIM S, 58(10), 2000, pp. 1177-1185
This paper describes how benzene derivatives were formed with high selectiv
ity in one - pot from three different alkynes in excellent yields. Firstly,
a novel method for pair - selective coupling of an alkyne with ethylene fo
rming zirconacyclopentenes was developed; then, highly selective cross - co
upling of two different alkynes forming zirconacyclopentadienes was achieve
d; finally, transmetallation of Zr - C bonds to Cu - C bonds in the presenc
e of a third alkyne led to the formation of benzene derivatives of three di
fferent alkynes. New evidences were obtained for understanding the reaction
mechanism.
