We present a model calculation,using the tight-binding approach,of a one-di
mensional heterostructure consisting of regular alternation of two differen
t halogen-bridged transition-metal compounds ( MX compounds). Superlattice
and multiquantum-well properties can be detected depending on the well-barr
ier alternation sequence. We prove the possibility of developing new multi-
quantum-well devices based upon MX compounds.
