Basic property of high Tc superconducting cable (HTS cable) using Bi-2
223-based Ag-sheathed multifilamentary wire (Ag-sheathed wire) have be
en investigated for realizing large scale and compact cable being repl
aceable with conventional cable in existing ducts or tunnels. AC perfo
rmance of multi-layer HTS conductor, and 3-phase HTS cable with coaxia
l superconducting magnetic shielding structure was evaluated. Characte
ristic of the HTS conductor and cable model in long length was investi
gated on the scale of 50m.
