Abstract
Superconducting magnets have enabled the construction of some very lar ge accelerators to explore the structure of matter at the highest ener gies. Small superconducting accelerators are used in medicine and indu stry. We review the special demands which accelerators make on superco nductor technology, describe the magnets for large and small accelerat ors and mention some exciting prospects for the future.
