Abstract
We report in this paper a global and exhaustive overview of the various att empts reported in the literature to develop electrochemical microsensors fo r the direct determination of nitric oxide (NO) in biological systems. In t his compilation, we address the physico-chemical characteristics and the pe rformances tin term of sensitivity) of the numerous chemically modified mic roelectrodes that were specially designed for the determination of NO, with out judging what the biological applications might be.
