J. Davanzo et al., CONDITIONS FOR THE OBSERVATION OF 2-ION CORRELATION-EFFECTS IN THE INTERACTION OF A FAST-ION BEAM WITH A PLASMA TARGET, Nuovo cimento della Societa italiana di fisica. D, Condensed matter, atomic, molecular and chemical physics, biophysics, 19(5), 1997, pp. 685-694
The experimental conditions, under which two-ion correlation effects i
n the stopping power of fast charged particles in plasmas can be obser
ved, are determined on the basis of simple physical considerations on
the interaction between two close ions moving in a plasma. More detail
ed numerical results, based on recent theoretical models (LONTANO M. a
nd RAIMONDI F., Phys. Rev. E, 51 (1995) R2755), confirm the possibilit
y of measuring such effects in already existing devices.
