N-(E)-2-stilbenyloxymethylenecarbonyl substituted hydrazones of ortho, meta and para hydroxybenzaldehydes

Twelve unknown N-(E)-2-stilbenyloxymethylenecarbonyl substituted hydrazones of acetone and ortho, meta and para hydroxybenzaldehydes have been prepare d. The N-substituted hydrazones occur as E geometrical isomers and cis/tran s amide conformers (H-1 NMR estimations). Crystal structures of N-(E)-2-sti lbenyloxymethylenecarbonyl substituted hydrazone of ortho hydroxy-benzaldeh yde 10 and N-(E)-2' (4'-chlorostilbenyloxymethylenecarbonyl)-substituted hy drazone of meta hydroxybenzaldehyde 14 have been determined as E geometrica l isomers and trans amide conformers with intra- (10) and intermolecular (1 4) hydrogen bonds.
