Abstract
The fully deprotonated tetrathiacalix[4]arene 1(4-) in 1,3-alternate confor mation and bearing four carboxylate units was shown to act as a tecton lead ing, in the presence of Ag+ cation, to a 2-D coordination network in the cr ystalline phase which can be described as discrete binuclear [1(4-), (Ag+)( 2)](2-) complexes interconnected by Ag+ cations.
