Abstract
Oligomeric bis(tributylstannyloxy) siloxanes were readily prepared by the reaction of sodium metasilicate and bis(tributyltin) oxide. The ra tios of Sn/Si contained in the obtained siloxanes ranged from 2 to 3, which were estimated by gravimetric analyses. Tributylstannyl group wa s shown to be an effective protection group against the self-condensat ion to give silica gel.
