Purpose, To report two cases of exposure keratopathy after cos metic CO2 la
ser skin resurfacing. Methods. Two patients presented with bilateral intrap
alpebral epitheliopathy. They were examined, treated, and followed for seve
ral weeks. Results. Nonsurgical treatment options, including a variety of l
ubricants, punctal plugs, and lid taping, did not lead to a complete resolu
tion of symptoms. Surgical options were recommended. Conclusion. Exposure k
eratopathy should be: recognized as a potential side effect of not only inc
isional lid surgery but also facial CO2 laser skin resurfacing procedures.
