Abstract
The epidemic of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome has caused a worldwide r esurgence of tuberculosis. A case of acute tuberculosis with anorectal invo lvement presenting at an urban American hospital is discussed. Although ano rectal involvement by tuberculosis is not uncommon, the diagnosis is usuall y initially missed.
