Production-ecological characteristics (biomass dynamics, population density
, size structure) and phenology of Carex pilosae S c o p. population in Car
ici pilosae-Fagetum O b e r d. 1957 community were estimated in submountain
-sedge beech forest stand during its life cycle. Aboveground biomass of juv
enile individuals culminated in September (60.03 g.m(-2)), offshoots densit
y ill May (240 shoots per m(2)). Juvenile individuals reached the height ma
ximum in July (40.1 cm). The life cycle lasted 680 days, generative cycle d
idn't represent more than 20% of the whole cycle during researched years fr
om 1994-1996.
