Abstract
We apply wavelet transform to study and compare the multifractal characteri stics of two electrical power demand time series, corresponding to a whole continent and a touristic city. The fluctuations in power demand associated with weather conditions or population will be different in both places. Fr actal analysis shows common characteristics such as the degree of persisten ce of power demand fluctuations or absence of chaos, as well as some slight differences.
