Abstract
This paper describes the synthesis of an octasaccharidic glycolipid 1 based on a stereo- and regioselective glycosylation between a Lewis X trisacchar idic donor and a pentasaccharidic acceptor. A highly hydrophobic lipid moie ty of a new type was selected, making the compound 1 a good candidate for t he study of the interaction of Lewis X functionalised vesicles.
