Abstract
Crime poses substantial risks to the health of victims and, consequently, g enerates additional demand for health services. This literature review exam ines the current state of knowledge and understanding of the impacts of cri me on physical and psychological health; responses to the needs of victims by health workers and other professionals; and resulting costs to health se rvices. The review concludes by identifying issues for research, policy and practice.
