Abstract
A synthetic approach comprising several studied modifications was applied t o the preparation of sn-glycerol 1,2-di-gamma -linolenate 3-palmitate (4). Thereby, a convenient and mild synthetic method was elaborated. affording 4 from 1,2-O-isopropylidene-sn-glycerol (1) in an average yield of 65-75% an d analytically acceptable purity.
