The oxygen-ion conducting ceramics Bi2VO5.5 and Bi2Cu0.1V0.9O5.35 were
synthesized and deposited on several substrates by the pulsed laser d
eposition technique. Defect-free films of Bi2Cu0.1V0.9O5.35 were obtai
ned on SrTiO3 substrates, while films of Bi2VO5.5 exhibited severe cra
