Abstract
Unhindered polyalkoxylated primary amines, upon treatment with an equimolar equivalent of formaldehyde, cyclized quantitatively to afford perhydro-1,3 ,5-s-triazines. This sereis of derivatives, based upon primary amine termin ated poly(propylene and butylene oxides), possessed a molecular weight rang e of 1,900-5,800. Structure confirmation was accomplished by gel permeation chromatography and 2D nmr spectroscopy methods.
