Abstract
Biocomposites were manufactured with dispersed porous corundum grains in va rious matrices (phosphate and berate cements, bioglass, PMMA and PLA). Thei r mechanical properties were estimated and correlated with the microstructu re. The applications of these composites in orthopaedics are also suggested . (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
