P. Dreger et al., ALLOGENIC TRANSPLANTATION OF MOBILIZED PERIPHERAL-BLOOD PROGENITOR CELLS - TOWARDS TAILORED CELL THERAPY, International journal of hematology, 66(1), 1997, pp. 1-11
Mobilized peripheral blood prognitor cells (PBPC) are increasingly bei
ng used instead of bone marrow for allogeneic transplantation. The pre
sent article will briefly review important aspects of allogeneic PBPCT
including donor safety, timing of leukapheresis, factors influencing
the yield, cellular composition of PBPC allografts, hematopoietic capa
city of allogeneic PBPC, and graft-versus-host and graft-versus-leukem
ia activities. It will particularly focus on the perspectives opened b
y PBPC for graft engineering and cell therapy. (C) 1997 Elsevier Scien
