O. Flamand et al., FATIGUE CALCULATION ON THE ROOF SUSTAINING CABLES OF A LARGE STADIUM IN PARIS, Journal of wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics, 64(2-3), 1996, pp. 127-134
Wind loading on the roof of a large stadium, ''le grand Stade'', in Pa
ris, has been measured in a boundary layer wind tunnel using a 1 to 20
0 scaled plexiglas model equipped with 191 pressure taps. The spectrum
of the integrated force shows a non-negligible part in the frequency
domain of the first seven eigen modes of the structure and the instant
aneous stress in some stays has been calculated including the dynamic
participation of these modes into wind excitation. Stress cycles have
then been counted for some stays and extrapolated to a 50 yr period us
ing meteorological data. These cycle number tables have been compared
with the fatigue data tables of the stays to calculate their cumulated
damage.
