Abstract
An initial experiment of introducing trainee dental nurses to assist d ental undergraduates for one session a week has led to the introductio n of dental team education within the department of restorative dentis try, University of Sheffield. At the same time, self-directed and prob lem based learning was introduced for the team. This article outlines the development and results of the exercise.
