Extending the Feynman-Kleinert variational approach, we calculate the tempe
rature-dependent effective classical potential governing the quantum statis
tics of a hydrogen atom in a uniform magnetic field at all temperatures. Th
e zero-temperature limit yields the binding energy of the electron, which i
s quite accurate for all magnetic-field strengths, and exhibits, in particu
lar, correct logarithmic growth at large fields.
