Abstract
Hydride reduction of 4-nitro-1-phenylimidazole and 2-methyl-4-niho-1-phenyl imidazole to the respective 1-phenyl-4-oximinoimidazolidines by metal hydri des was studied under different conditions. 1-Aryl-4-oximinoimidazolidines were hydrolyzed to the respective imidazolidinones. For a comparison hydrid e reduction of 4-nitro-1-phenyl-pyrazole to the corresponding azoxy compoun d was carried out too.
