Polarized luminescence excited by a pulsed synchrotron radiation source (Da
resbury, UK) was used to measure nanosecond relaxation times characterizing
the intramolecular mobility of PMMA macromolecules with luminescent anthra
cene-containing labels. The studied part of a macromolecule was selected by
a luminescent label located at the end of the side or main chain or in the
middle of the main chain, The relaxation times tau of PMMA are determined
in a series of solvents with various viscosities. The tau values obtained b
y the polarized luminescence methods are compared for pulsed and continuous
excitation of emission.
