Abstract
A model was suggested to explain the sorption of alcohols in poly(1-trimeth ylsilyl-1-propyne). According to this model, the cooperative filling of cha nnels (interrelated nanovoids) of the polymer is combined with the "growth" of the associates of sorbed molecules within the sorbent bulk. Based on th is model, the isotherm equation was obtained, and, in particular cases, red uced to the Ising and BET isotherms. This equation was used to approximate the sorption isotherms of MeOH, EtOH, and iso-PrOH and the desorption isoth erm of BuOH. The parameters of this equation were determined, and their mea ning was discussed.
