M. Majdan et P. Sadowski, Modelling of liquid-liquid extraction equilibria in a quaternary amine ionexchanger-HCl/NaCl system, ACH-MODEL C, 137(4), 2000, pp. 473-485
The distribution ratios of HCl and NaCl in the extraction system: Aliquat 3
36 (xylene as solvent)H,NaCl were determined for the acid concentration: 0.
1-1 M and extractant concentration 0.1-1 M at constant sodium chloride conc
entration 4 M. It was found from the analysis of experimental data that the
following species exist in the organic phase: (ACl)(2). HCl, ACl . NaCl, (
ACl)(2)NaCl, where symbol ACI refers to the Aliquat 336 chloride (tricapryl
methylammonium chloride). Parallelism between changes of activity coefficie
nts of NaCl and HCl and their extractions, E, was found. It was suggested t
hat the extraction process of HCl and NaCl is realized via addition reactio
n with dipole-dipole interaction between amine salt and undissociated elect
rolytes.
