The elastic net method is used for vertex reconstruction in the experi
mental search for spontaneous conversion of muonium to antimuonium (PS
I, Switzerland) and for track fitting in the NEMO double beta decay ex
periment (Modane, France). The advantages of the method are simplicity
of the algorithm, fast and stable convergence, and a reconstruction e
fficiency close to 100%. Demonstration programs are available at http:
