Abstract
The use of single fibre electromyography (SFEMG) in the study of neuro muscular transmission across individual motor endplates in situ is rev iewed. The neuromuscular jitter can be studied both during voluntary c ontraction and electrical activation of the muscle fibre. The differen ces, pitfalls and advantages of these methods are discussed. Findings in myasthenia gravis and other disorders of the neuromuscular transmis sion are examined. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
